The most advanced Nokia range to date

This is one Nokia brand you will not want to miss out. No batteries needed. It’s using the advanced nano technology that uses very low wattage. I think it’s called ‘lithium polymer’ with a modified butadiene copolymer cells.

For those of us who lived in the rural area, you may benefit more on this technology since you will be able to access the network even when the network path is not in sight. This is due to the special receiver that produces tiny micro Read more »

Show them who’s the boss!

Have you ever seen fire ants? Or should I say, have you actually ‘experienced’ them? Somehow I did not enjoy coming across those exciting bunch yet alone ’stepping’ into one of them! You see, other ants will bite you and spray acid onto your wound.

Not for these folks. Fire ants bite you just to get a good grip and what they will do is sting you from their abdomen and inject a toxic into your skin (it’s some kind of venom). I’m not sure how other animals would explain the sensation from such stings but for us humans, it’s like laying your armpit under someones lighted cigarette or lighter. Yep. That’s how they got the name ‘Fire Ants’ duh!

Got a problem mate?

Some guys will get back to those ants by dousing their mounds with fire. Some prefer to stomp on it although you might risk being bitten the second time. I’ve seen a guy using a shotgun too. But there are always alternatives to fire ant control then doing those inhumane ways. Check out controlfireants.com. They sure know what they are talking about. (Perhaps they were ants before?)

Check it out friends.

Once you go black, you’ll never go back?

How would you tree huggers like to save on the environment? Save some energy perhaps? Using this pc alone already takes some sort of energy and there is no doubt, by combining the whole world population, we could definitely power up a few small countries.

I just found out that if we were to go black, there’s quite an amount of energy that we can save. Do you know that an all white page that you view on your monitor will use about 74 watts to be diplayed? Compared that to a black background, only 59 watts. With a simple math, Google gets around 200 million. Assuming every query is displayed about 10 seconds, the people of the world is running it at 550,000 hours every day. That savings of 15 watts using black backgrund will save 8.3 Megawatt-hours per day or about 3000 Megawatts-hours per year. Assuming that 25% of the world population are using CRT monitors, assuming it’s 10 cents kilowatt an hour, that’s a savings of $75,000 just by changing some codes.

I’d like to say I made this myself but I did not. Check out Mark Ontkush’s posting.

Wood is good

I am a Sabahan. It’s not an Arabic word or something but it’s one of the States in Malaysia. One great thing that we have in Sabah is how rich we have preserved our virgin forest. There are also abundant source of timbre too. Which brings me to the topic of timbre frame. I have always dreamed of having my own home using such structures. Concrete or iron frame is strong but wooden frame feels just right. I would build my home on the plot of land left by our grandfathers and use all the natural elements that I can find.

Of course, in order to have beautiful timber frame, you need people who are specialised in those area. You need timber framers to do that. Not many experts in Sabah, I heard. But for you folks who are staying in the US of A, especially in Vermont, vermonttimberworks.com has the expertise in constructing buildings of all sizes, shapes and designs using only the finest in timber frame construction. I envy you. Perhaps they do house calls?
