Play it online baby!

When was the last time you played backgammon? Seems like ages to me. It was a fun game I used to play with my school mates. I’m not sure if these games are still known especially among younger generations? I have never witnessed anyone playing it anymore. However, there’s a company that has been very serious about gaming, especially when it comes to backgammon that is. Heard of backgammonmasters.com? You’d be surprised how cool and real their games are!

There was even a press release about them. It was mentioned that in a backgammonmasters backgammon game, they actually offer a multi player table where up to five players spaciously seated and playing at the same table. You could even chat in real time just like you would on a real table.

Downloading of the game software is free. You have a choice of playing for fun or for real. Playing for real gives you a chance to be ‘given’ free $25. If you have real good skill, you may even make a living out of this! I know some folks who does. Oh but you definitely need to find out your countries terms and legality when it comes to skill-gaming. Some countries are OK with it and some do not.

Heard of Easter Eggs from Microsoft?

Today I got this pretty interesting newsletter. They were discussing about the ‘heydays’ where computer enthusiast will try cracking some code from your popular Microsoft Excel 95, 97 and 2000. These Microsoft developers will embed some programs (games) within the Excel program itself. They call it ‘Easter Eggs’ In order to get this game to appear, what you need to do is do stuff like ‘save as’ go to go to a certain row, perform keyboard shortcuts and voila! The game will appear as an embedded object and there are games like flight simulator, racing and some dungeon explorer thing.

Easter Eggs Microsoft

This is my first time knowing this. I wish I have a MS Excel for those version so I could check em out. This was a way for developers to leave their mark since they have spent hours of time developing those softwares. Very cool. Some even show photos of the team involved. Oh by the way, they also mentioned that these developers also did it for MS Access, MS Words and Power Point too.

Goodbye Ms Suzuki my old friend. It’s been a fantastic 8 years or so.

Yesterday as I was riding to the shop to pick up my new bike, the weather started to become a little gloomy. The sky became darker and it started to drizzle. As I cranked the throttle to gain a little more speed to reach the shop, memories of me and miss Suzuki came rushing. After all these years, she still has the acceleration power like she used to have although a little bit shaky. Going through the corner to enter the shop, I can still feel the suspension of the bike being fantastic as ever. The mono-suspension system of this Suzuki babe is sure good.

She has kept me safe and brought me to my destination (most of the time) without any harm. Unfortunately, nothing last forever. Even diamonds get cut and reshaped when stolen. Same goes with this relationship of mine with Ms Suzuki. Lately she has been demanding so much of attention. Yes, this bike of mine has numerous breakdowns until I have to say “we can’t go on like this. If we can’t be happy together, then let’s go our separate ways. It’s painful but we just have to do it.”

I got my keys to the new Honda Wave 125s yesterday. They were both parked on the side stand side by side to each other. One looked very frail and overweight. The other one looked brand new, slim and sharp. The new Honda is definitely going to be fuel efficient and low maintenance. However, I had to sacrifice great riding comfort and good bike response so I can reduce expenditure and become a millionaire.

Today will be a new beginning. Honda, let’s have a great life together. Ms Suzuki, I hope the next guy will treat you well as I have treated you. Your name will always be in my heart and my ‘important documents file’.

Here’s a photo when we were young and wild.. ha ha
