Every single person who’s currently in this blog reading or in planet earth for that matter (including Google bots) would have experienced some form of tragedy I believe. It can be associated with death of a loved one, broken marriages, betrayals, lost friendships, misunderstandings etc…you know what I’m talking about. Us human being are really special. Compared to other living creature on earth, we deal a lot with feelings.
Judgements are almost being executed based on how you feel. No matter how serious your dad is telling you that the car model called ‘MyVi’ is more fuel efficient than the second hand ‘Satria GTI’ that you’ve been wanting to get, chances are if you are a Satria GTI freak, you will choose the latter. Or perhaps you’d rather go all the way to another shopping mall just to get that brand of nail polish remover when you could get another which will serve the same purpose… cleaning off and removing your nail polish.
Anyway, let’s zoom back to life’s tragedy.
There are different ways how us humans deal with tragedies. For some, the easiest way out in order to stop that massive feeling of sadness, suicide is the only way. Some folks turn it into anger and affects the people around them. Others may loose hope in religion or whatever principles in life that they have been holding on to. There are also people who are patient enough to bury that sadness deep in their soul but will carry the scar throughout their life.
However, there are a few people who focus all this hurt and pain towards something else. Sort of a ‘project’. They channel all this feelings to some kind of ‘activity’. Join a Karate class. Be involved in community projects, charity for instance. Start painting again or get back into your favorite hobbies and be passionate about it. For those who are into music, they may start writing songs and stuff. In my humble opinion, I would call these activity as “Theraphy”?
R. Kelly for example. (Okay. it was not his personal account). But here’s an excerpt I took from popeater.com
In response to the Virginia Tech shootings, R. Kelly has penned ‘Rise Up,’ a song of hope and encouragement for the victims’ families and all who have been affected by the event.
Kelly was on his tour bus when details of the shooting were unfolding on the news, and he was so compelled that he began writing lyrics that eventually became this moving anthem.
In the bridge, Kelly sings, “You see struggle/ Struggle has no color/ No color/ In the midst of the crisis/ You are my sister and I’m your brother/ And side by side we’ll face this thing/ Standing tall/ You and me.”
