Are you up for some Carbolic Smokeballs?
Today a friend of mine forwarded an e-mail to me. It’s a link to his friends band website. It’s been quite long since I listened to a Malaysian band. My all time favorite is definitely Search and Wings. One of my first introduction to rock. So, after checking out these guys, they are pretty cool! They called themselves Carbolic Smokeballs. (sounds like a dangerous chemical mix) They consist of Ayep-Vocals, Jai-Bass,Lawrence-Guitar,Keyboards and Vocals,Cheen(Shaik Sazarin)-Drums,Nurul-Guitar and Vocals.
I like the musical arrangements. I thought I sense a little bit of Skid Row and some Steve Vai and that Japanese rock band, Loudness in there? Anyway, I’m no expert. Only comment is if you really listen closely to the singer’s English pronunciation, it’s a little Malaysian. But hey, aren’t we? The songs included in the website is cool too. I like ‘Di Langit Cinta’ and ‘Lead The Way’
I’m sure their music is not something that all my readers here can agree to. But I kind of dig it.
