..but I still can’t consider myself a gamer type

1943_arcade.pngVideo games. Mention the word and most of us will have a little experience of our own. Something to remember about. I get to know video games when I saw my friend’s pocket game. In Sabah that time, when I was in primary school, it used to be called ‘game watch’ probably shortened from ‘game & watch’?? My friend had this game on cowboys and all. You have to do some bottle shootings in the bar and when that is done, you had to have a draw with the bad guys. Really cool. I used to borrow my friends game. There’s another game I liked too. It’s sort of a Mickey Mouse game balancing some eggs? or something?

When my cousin brought his Nintendo game with the cartridge and all, I was so amazed by the ‘details’. Almost real so to speak. I played Dig-Dug, Donkey Kong, Tetris, 1943 Battle of Midway, Double Dragon and my favourite was the tennis game. However I never own one.

Then came the arcade games. In the area I stayed in Sabah, they called this game ‘ting-tong’. Perhaps of the usual sounds it produced? There are a few games I enjoyed but nothing like the volley ball game that I liked. Since everyone was so good at Street Fighter and stuff, I went for this not-so-popular game. I got pretty good at it. Finding out some cheats and special powers to serve the opponent and all. Even finishing the game to the final when I defeated China.

Do I own any playstation 3 or XBox and stuff now? No. I wish I could but I’d rather spend the money on something else first….for now.

What’s your story?
