Call Centre in a cell
I came across a blog from callcentres.net while searching for some call centre resource. It was a blog by the sites Director, Dr. Catriona Wallace. She had the opportunity to visit the Changi Women’s prison in Singapore. there, the inmates were given an opportunity to actually work as a call centre agent. Being a call centre person myself, this is a really good step taken by the prison authorities as well as the back bone of the call center called Connect Center. Here’s a clip of her blog content.
“We interviewed several agents working there and were totally impressed with their professionalism and dedication to the call centre job they had and to the industry. The call centre work is treated by inmates as a privilege and there is a very rigorous interview process for inmates to become agents.”
So the next time you make a call about your Telco charges, you might be handled by a very professional and well mannered prison inmate. Here’s the link to Dr. Catriona Wallace’s blog. You might need to scroll down a bit.
