Kinabalu, mount

I like to think of myself as a person who love the outdoors? Although my survival skills in the jungle may not even last me a few minutes. I have done scuba diving, rock climbing, kayaking, white-water rafting but one thing I still haven’t done is climb mount Kinabalu! I’m a Sabahan that still haven’t set foot on the top of that majestic mountain. I hope I do.

Next year is the plan. Perhaps I should add my policy and take the equote.com’s no exam life insurance quotes ..just in case? LOL.

GPS

I was a big fan of Windows Mobile. I think it was pretty awesome at the time. But as time goes by you tend to see how much limitations that operating system has. Well at least up to windows Mobile 6.5 I think. Besides I love using GPS stuff (not that I can get along well with it) but for the fun of it and knowing it’s there ‘in case’ you might need it.

That’s why I got myself the Android. Loads of the best gps apps you can find!

Back Pack

The best way to travel is by backpack. Nothing beats the speed and freedom and mobility of having a backpack while zooming past airport crowd. it can even serve as your pillow for those times when you need to sleep at the airport or at someone’s yard in some cases.

I have yet to own a good large capacity travel backpack. Currently I am using a 50 liters Slazenger travel backpack. Quite a reliable one. Only thing is I wished it was 60 liters in size or more. Even book bags for school looked larger these days.

Saw this one at the Corezone (local) store website. This will be perfect so I can fit my diving fins as well. Drool.

More Bali stuff

Just to add a little bit from my previous post.

There are a few things you should know before you head for Bali. This is based on my personal experience anyways.

  1. Inform your banks about your visit so your ATM Cards won’t get blocked
  2. Book your taxi guy for a whole day for your ride. This will save you lots of $$
  3. Buying souvenirs? Dirt cheap are from these big souvenir shopping halls like KRISNA
  4. Be a law abidin’ citizen. you don’t wanna mess with the law dudes.
  5. If you have to buy at the tourist spots and seriously want an item…, bargain, bargain bargain.
  6. Save at least 150,000 rupiah! for your return journey. There’s some tax thingy at the airport when you fly back. They won’t even care if it’s Earth Day or what not. Lucky for us, there were some really nice Malaysian passengers who were willing to lend us some Rupiah!
