My new toy M-Audio Oxygen61 Midi Controller Keyboard

I have sold my dearest Yamaha E403 recently. Yeap. We had some great times together making songs, gigs and parties at home. I bought the M-Audio Oxygen61 for a change. This one is no regular keyboard. It does not have any sound on its own. Basically it is what we call a midi keyboard. The sound it produce will depend all on the pc. And yes I will no longer be able to bring a keyboard out in the open say in the garden area with nice landscape lightings like I used to.

But I do hope I can make more music with this baby.

Hava Nagila! (Let us rejoice)

I love world music. Turkish, Middle Eastern music… I think they are awesome. Have you heard the tune to this song called Hava Nagila? Well based on what I found on Wiki:

“Hava Nagila” (lit. Let us rejoice) is a Hebrew folk song that has become a staple of band performers at Jewish weddings

I just love the tune. Our biblical characters must have been playing music that follows along the line of such notation huh?

A little History:

The melody was taken from a Ukrainian folk song from Bukovina.[1] The commonly used text was probably composed by Abraham Zevi (Zvi) Idelsohn[2][3] in 1918 to celebrate the British victory in Palestine during World War I as well as the Balfour Declaration.

No need for your regular dosage of Phentermine 37.5 yet. Cos these Hava Nagila videos will keep you going!

M-Audio Axiom I loike! But I may settle with the M-Audio Keystation 61es

I will soon be parting ways with my beloved Yamaha E403 electronic keyboard. We have been together for more than 2 years I think. She does look new and shiny just as how she looks when I saw her the first time in that little showroom in Subang parade. She has helped me made songs like This is Kaamatan and Another Love Song to name a few.

Anyway change is good right? The reason I am selling off the Yamaha keyboard is so I could make my little ‘Home Studio’ a little more spacious by having a midi controller instead of an Electronic Keyboard. i would go for the M-Audio Axiom but money seems to be not interested in me right now. Damn I should have done more of those auto insurance reviews that I was offered a while ago.

Looks like my next best option is the M-Audio Keystation 61es model. I love you Yamaha E403. You are always here, right here in my heart and in my demo recordings in my hard drive somewhere.

This song is made from 100% virtual instruments

My mom (love her dearly) asked me on Monday night if I was able to help her create a theme song for their BEC group. Now I was not really prepared for this one. Their BEC is for the area of Kampung Sikuati and it had to have something to do with their BEC focus and principle so to speak. I had to mention St Theresa as well…

I was not able to add in the vocal parts as I was running out of time. I only had 2 nights to do it since they were gonna practice the coming Thursday! I won’t say that it was as easy as tagging your custom tote bags to the market and get something you like from the shelf. Time still had to be spent on figuring out the suitable beat, arrangements and not forgetting the lyrics!

I decided to use the Sumazau beat. I think they will have a much better feel community spirit especially when they sing in harmony also during Chorus part.

This music is created entirely on virtual instruments.

I would have added more sound element into it but I think this one will be more than sufficient for them to sing along this coming Saturday. I heard my mom even came up with some action for this song. LoL. Way to go mom and gang!

Here it is, with a melody guide (no vocals)
