Do you happen to know your great grandfather?
My first website was kastum.com. I was so full of spirit when I first started. I don’t know nuts about HTML and stuff. Just learned some very basic codes so I can make proper alignments, insert photos and all that. My goal was to document all my family member’s info so I can have like a single source of family data where everyone can view and be able to get to know family members much more better.
With the help of my wonderful sister we did manage to put the site up. Using some WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) software to create the website and family tree, it made the task of creating those links and designs much easier. The sad thing is, I only have met and been around my grandfather just on a few occasions. Not much info do I have about his father or grand father. As you know, the Kampung’s in Sabah in the olden days do not have such thing as record keeping. Everything is via verbal communication. Perhaps if we use DNA profiling?
Apart from that, I have not been consistent in updating the website. Even the Christmas message is still there! How I wish I can make it into a website that has a blog integrated in it, then it will be more dynamic and more ‘alive’.

Aww… now I miss Aki so much. I’m glad we spent quite a lot of great moments with him while he was still around.
I still remember how he love his beard so much, that whenever daddy gave him a shave, he’ll say: “Don’t shave off my beard oh..” (in Rungus of course, hehehe)
Cindy- Wah he loved his beard so much? I did not know about that. He he.. perhaps you had more chance of spending time with him compared to me since I was away in KL most of my Teen years (more like 99.9%)
cool reporting. I wonder where my great grandparents were. We don’t even have pictures of them
PaPa- Who knows, you might be related to Genghis Khan or something…
That would be nice. The Great Conqueror!
Kay, did you know that Aki’s grandmother is a Punjabi?
..or was it his mother? I forgot lah. hehehe
Cindy- yes I was told. No wonder my body feels like dancing when I heard Punjabi music…
