Full moon tonight
According to my my Google homepage, it’s going to be a full moon tonight. Checking out the night sky I can clearly see how beautiful it looks.
Since ancient times, the moon has been associated with legends, beliefs and myths. Of course, scientists have long discovered that the moon does have a very big effect on our planet earth. Just recently I happened to watch Discovery Channel and they were showing this program about the effect of the moon gravity at this particular place in China. What happened is that I think every 2 years, there will be a massive wave (sort of like a tsunami) that comes gushing into the land. It’s actually a river channel.
In Sabah, particularly in Kunak, I used to join some friends whom frequently goes hunting. It was fun I tell you. We shoot everything that looked like a pair of eyes. (Of course they claim to know if it was human eyes) My friend ‘Imon’ once told me that one of the ‘pantang’ is not to go hunting during full moon because the light from your torch and the light from the full moon will confuse the animals and they tend to run away…huh?
Of course there are so many other moon related stories around the world too. I wonder what your version is.
