I only go back to Sabah once a year

advertisement

For the last 10 years or so I have been in KL / Peninsular Malaysia, the average time I spend my days in Sabah will be around 8/365 days. Exciting huh? Most of the time, (as though I have much choice) is to return during the Christmas holidays. The only limited days I have to spend time with family and some friends. Time really flies really fast I can tell you that. Especially when you had such a good time ‘balik kampung’. It’s like “Hi everybody! It’s so nice to see you and hey Merry Christmas to you too, oh by the way I gotta go already..see you next year!”

Time is so short I can’t even afford to bring much clothes. Most of the time it will be 1 jean, 4 T-shirts, 2 short pants (1 for daily use and 1 for swimming, just in case), some toiletries and of course maybe 3 under wears and an additional disposable underwear. You know those that you can buy at our local stores.

This year will be a little bit special for our family since my parents will be moving out from the Kunak vicinity after my dad retire and they will be staying in Kampung Popot, Kudat. So I will definitely make a point to save as much leave as possible (not that I have much to spare either) and perhaps increase my average stay in Sabah to 10 days maybe?
