I was supposed to be working in a hotel
The only reason why I came to Kuala Lumpur was to study hotel management. I studied at theis place called NPC, (National Productivity Center) and I completed my Diploma in Hotel Management. Am I working in the industry now? Not really.
When I first started class, from day one things were really interesting. You know how it is, since everything is a new experience, I was kind of excited too. Learning about the ‘overflow deck system’ of a swimming pool, getting to know (and taste) different types of wines from different regions, baking my first cake, cooking my first chicken rice was all really a memorable one.
I remember seeing range hoods for the first time thinking it was an air conditioning unit. Those kitchen staffs told me that since the kitchen is one hot place, every good hotel will install one just above the cooking area. And I believed them!

Jewelle- Of course they just learn but don’t taste. As for us Sabahan’s we were more than eager to try the wines. he he..
RedBlusher- I think it was a ‘Black Forest’ cake… strange enough it turned out fabulous. My lecturer was praising me in front of the group who was with me during our test and said “..he is the first student to serve this cake with the sauce..very creative etc-etc”. Somehow today I only can cook instant noodle…
