LASIK complications info
I have been thinking quite a bit about getting a LASIK surgery. I have been wearing glasses since I was in form one. It was cool though. Everyone thinks you are a nice and very smart guy. There’s a downside too. The type of sports that I can involve myself was pretty much limited. Apart from that, guys like us will also have difficulty looking at nice corals and fishes when we go snorkeling, unless you are using a special type of diving mask.
Imagine the freedom without glasses. I can run, swim, dive and jump as much as I want! But hang on for a minute, I just came to know that fewer than 3% of LASIK surgery and similar eye surgery patients have an unresolved complication. Although these Lasik Complications figures are small, try taking that percent out of a million? If you are like me, you need to check out ComplicatedEyes.Org. they run an online nonprofit LASIK patient advocacy. It is a very good resource for people with LASIK problems or perhaps needed more info before deciding to undergo surgery.
By learning what LASIK surgery really are as well as the expectation from such surgery, one can be more prepared before or after having it.

hi,
i’ve done LASIK myself and i should have done it when i was in my 20s. i am now 32. i am seeing 6/6 or 20/20 as the americans say
complications may occur and they tell u this during your eye exam but most of the time, it can be avoided (which in my case, was)
i did mine at Optimax in Centre Point Sabah. really nice & friendly staff. the procedure is very simple. together with my friends, we think fear is our greatest enemy. for me no pain at all
all the best!
Sharon- What’s the procedure like? Did they make you sleep and all?
no lah, doctor said don’t sleep. otherwise eyeballs roll up then can’t operate
i think the most uneasy part was when the doctor put the suction rings on. my fren said hers painful on one eye but i guess my threshold for pain is very high, i didn’t feel mine painful. i remember it was dark for abt 5 secs
after suction ring, cut the cornea to make a flap, laser the cornea and then put back the flap. oh i was told to look at a red light which was very very very blur once the flap was folded. i think i accidentally moved my left eye one time coz the laser stopped :p it cont’d once i looked back at the red light. lasering was just a few seconds. you could even hear the staff say “5 seconds!” towards the end. hmm what else… oh the cleaning part takes a while to do. they told me it takes 30 mins for both eyes but i think i got out in less than 30 mins. it was quick
i could see clearly as soon as i got up from the surgery bed. ahhh this one is important – after you come out, tears will flow from ur eyes automatically. my fren couldn’t open her eyes and hers lasted more than 2 hrs. i was already sending sms-es after 1 hr only to be told by the staff not to coz it wld strain my eyes hehe
well, only one thing can be said – for the sake of beauty and convenience, i think all the trouble and money was worth it! hehehe…
why don’t you call them? Tel no. is 236633.
Whats the estimate cost ya?
Btw, I’m in KL bah..
hahaha!! montoku was the security word!! hahaha!!!
eh, they have branches in KL bah… i called them up recently and they said kalau KK punya harga, the lowest is RM1650 per eye.
and they said this price is available at their clinic in Hospital UKM. don’t worry, ada 0% credit card installment plan. check out their website – http://www.optimax.com.my – for phone numbers
