Maya Karin is a mermaid or “Duyung” in Bahasa Malaysia

advertisement

First, let us find out what exactly is a mermaid. My first encounter with a mermaid was at the age of 8 or 12 years old. I think it was from a Disney movie. It was entitled “The Little Mermaid”. Over the years I have seen a few version of them on TV. Most of the time they picture these (creatures?) as this hot, youthful and beautiful girl with bare tops, long hair and sometimes with a starfish as a bra just like the Disney cartoon ones. Now below is what I received from the internet and this is not Maya Karin although the figure may fool you. It’s a bit ugly anyway.

Ugly Mermaid

Here’s what folks written in Wiki, well an excerpt of course:

A mermaid (from the Middle English mere in the obsolete sense ’sea’ (as in maritime, the Latin mare, “sea”) + maid(en)) is a legendary aquatic creature with the head and torso of human female and the tail of a fish. The male version of a mermaid is called a merman; gender-neutral plurals could be merpeople or merfolk. Various cultures throughout the world have similar figures.

Much like sirens, mermaids in stories would sometimes sing to sailors and enchant them, distracting them from their work and causing them to walk off the deck or cause shipwrecks. Other stories would have them squeeze the life out of drowning men while trying to rescue them. They are also said to take them down to their underwater kingdoms. In Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid it is said that they forget that humans cannot breathe underwater, while others say they drown men out of spite.

Now I’m not sure whether Maya Karin sings in this movie or not. Whatever it is, I think she’s hot and she deserves to be a Duyung. I should have checked her feet when I met her last year. (Who knows she’s a real one??)

Now this is her in full Technicolor.

Maya Karin-Duyung

The movie is sponsored by DIGI, a mobile network provider of Malaysia and Produced by the KRU Production. Now all we need is some good home theater chairs, chips and some fun drinks.

Yes, they’re real and I’ve seen one being caught. there’s this place (i can’t tell you where) where there were some fishermen who caught a baby mermaid and one of them refused to throw the mermaid back into the sea even if there’s another bigger mermaid (probably her mother) who was crying/begging, making this sort of dolphin-like sound, not talking. that angry fisherman thought that those mermaids were the ones responsible why there were hardly any fishes at that time coz mermaids were hoarding them, protecting those fishes against fishermen. he chopped off the fish part of the small mermaid upon returning to shore and sold it to the market. (ewww!) then later buried the part with the head. it’s ugly but looked a bit different from the above, probably that’s another specie. it is in no way freakin beautiful! it’s got large eyes, some parts are covered with scales, the hands/fins looked like duck’s feet, it’s really slimy, no nose and no breasts! but if you look at it from afar, it really look like a person because of the optical illusion made by sunlight shadows. I haven’t got any camera back then coz I was too young. then later that day, there was a storm, rain poured hard. days later, the families of the fishermen died one by one. i’ve seen some mermaids sitting by the rocks, singing, their voice is really pleasant a combination of a dolpin’s and a bird and when they see someone approaching, they’ll swim away. there were good ones and bad ones, teeth are pointed. if you’re kind to them, they’re gonna hand you something. there was this rumor that my uncle was possessing a huge pearl given to him by a mermaid and that protected him from any water catastrophes as if by miracle. merman or mermaid, I won’t know its gender cuz it’s really fishy-ugly compared to human. you won’t know if it’s male or female so stop having illusions about meeting hot babes with fish tails falling in love with you coz that image is just a creation of some pervert’s imagination

new_age_girl-For Real? Cool. And where was this?

  20. new_age_girl on October 22nd, 2009

I can’t tell you because the place will be swarmed with explorers, reporters, etc. and that will only scare and anger the mermaids away. Fishermen hate mermaids because if there are mermaids in the area, expect no fishes.

i for real want to know if mermaids are real because me and my mum are arguing about it :???:
