Sabah, land below the wind
As most of the readers here know, I am from Sabah. “Land below the wind” as it is called. Do you know why it is called “land below the wind’? Well it’s because Sabah is located below the typhoon belt. So that means Sabah is a State free from climatic disturbances. Well,at least not the major ones.
If you have been to Sabah, apart from the nice, warm and beautiful people, you will also notice that 4WD vehicles can be found everywhere. This is due to majority of the landscape in Sabah is still rugged. I kind of dig this 4WD. They are cool! My dad has this TOYOTA from the Hilux family. When I went home last year, I had a chance to drive his vehicle. I was not really familiar with the feel of a huge vehicle like that so both my parents did not really sleep when I took the wheels on the way back to my village. I think it will look more cool should he installs some truck toolbox for the back.
Come to Sabah folks. It’s a great place to be. Some says the coral reefs in Sabah are almost better than the ones in the Great Barrier Reef?

Did you know that the Land Below The Wind nick for Sabah was actually coined by Agnes Keith in her books? Sarawak and Brunei are all below the wind but we got it, thanks to her.
