There is hope
As per Jewelle’s post entitled Another Excuse To Learn More Language, I personally applaud the effort taken by those who have made it happen. The education department’s decision to include the KadazanDusun language in the PMR exam next year is definitely a fresh new start in preserving this rich and unique native language.
I am a living proof of how quickly this culture can disappear. My mom is from the KadazanDusun race and my dad is a Rungus man but I only know a few words like ‘louson’ (hungry) and ‘moginum’ (to drink)…well at least with those few words I might be able to survive in the kampung since it’s food related. So..who’s joining me to sit for PMR next year? Get the full news here which is from Daily Express of Sabah.

Bah, kano noh mokiboos Kadazan doiti. Kadaa hiivai do bahasa dih ina tokou.
OK, that’s like the best Kadazan sentence I can say. (definitely got grammatical error tu) Although I couldn’t converse in Kadazan/Rungus, at least I could understand them. Tak boleh kena jual la orang cakap.
Serious ar, you taking the PMR next year? LOL
